Cartier has cracked the style code, and managed to seamlessly retain the style they’re famous for while coming up with new and amazing designs. Cartier’s BATH-shaped watch is a tawdry French alternative to the Cartier Tank and Panthère, the two other styles the brand is phenomenally popular with, especially among the royals. Its bath-shaped design has definitely left a mark on French celebrities, including Romy Schneider and Jeanne Moreau. Most recently, the watch was spotted on the wrist of none other than reality TV celeb Kendell Jenner.
The Watch
Kendall Jenner’s new watch is a darling take on the traditional Cartier Tank and Panthère watches. The Kardashian-Jenner sister was spotted wearing the elegant timepiece over the weekend. The funky yet classic-inspired timepiece features a bath-shaped dial, rose gold details, and is adorned with blue crystals along with its strap (which looks similar to Cartier’s striped straps). She was seen wearing a racer jacket, Bates Rave Flag Cafe, the Row boots, an Olsen-made bag, and Khaite’s Danielle jeans. Before this, Baignoire had received support from one of Jenner’s friends, Tyler, who is a famous auction bidder for rare Cartier items.
The History of Cartier
Cartier, known for its luxury watches, especially its timeless models, was started in 1847. But over the years, it has launched many collections that have stood out from the crowd. One of these is the Cartier Baignoire collection. The concept of oval-shaped dials may have been introduced in 1912 by Louis Cartier, but it was not until 1957 that Baignoire became part of Cartier’s signature style. Later, in the ’70s, Cartier launched its Baignoire Allongée collection, which continued to receive love for a long time. The luxury brand has continued to evolve with time, adapting to each passing trend. Cartier’s occasional experimentation with its design demonstrates that it has never shied away from adapting to changes and meeting the styling needs of the new generation.
